The ocean covers 70% of the earths surface, but 95% of it is unmapped!
Whilst it is claimed that 12 men have walked on the moon, only 2 have reached the deepest part of the ocean- the Mariana Trench. The ocean inhabits 230,000 known species of fish and is host to the highest mountain on the planet, Mauna Kea at 33,500 feet. Almost a mile taller than everest, Mauna Kea is actually an inactive volcano on the island of Hawaii.
Only a small portion of our seas are protected under Marine Conservation Zones.
